Canyoning combines abseiling, cliff jumping, scrambling and swimming through some of Croatia's most dramatic river canyons. It's the most physical, most exhilarating and most memorable way to experience the Croatian landscape — all you need is the nerve to take the first jump.
The Cetina River canyon near Omiš is Croatia's canyoning headquarters — a dramatic limestone gorge where the river has carved through 200-metre walls to create pools, waterfalls and natural slides that make a perfect canyoning environment. The water runs crystal clear from May through September, and the enclosed canyon stays naturally cooler than the coast even in August heat.
A typical Cetina canyoning session covers about 3km of the canyon, involving 4–6 abseil descents (the longest around 25 metres), multiple cliff jumps into deep pools (from 3 to 10 metres — your choice on the higher ones), natural waterslides, and sections of swimming through narrow gorge passages. The whole experience takes 3–4 hours and covers terrain that feels genuinely remote despite being only 30 minutes from Split.
Canyoning pairs naturally with the Cetina River rafting experience — either as a morning/afternoon combination or on separate days. We also offer an advanced canyon route for experienced participants that includes longer abseils and more challenging jump sections. All canyoning experiences are led by certified canyon guides with full safety equipment — ropes, harnesses and wetsuits are all provided.
