The road from Dubrovnik to Split follows 230 km of Adriatic coastline continuously — past the wine and oyster port of Ston at the base of the Pelješac peninsula, over or through the Neum corridor (a 9km stretch of Bosnian coastline), through the beach resort towns of the Makarska Riviera, and north into Split. It is one of the genuinely great coastal drives in Europe.
The Pelješac Bridge (opened 2022) now allows Croatian drivers to bypass the Neum border crossing entirely — connecting mainland Croatia to Pelješac over a spectacular cable-stayed bridge. We use either route depending on your timing preference. Either way, the scenery is exceptional throughout.
Optional stops can be arranged along the route at no extra charge: Ston for the 14th-century defensive walls and Croatia's finest oysters (45 min stop), Makarska Riviera for a beach walk or lunch (1 hr), or a quick Pelješac winery visit if you're interested in Croatian wine.
