Stand-up paddleboarding in Croatia offers something genuinely unique — the Adriatic's extraordinary clarity means you're essentially paddling on glass, watching the seabed scroll beneath you while the islands of Dalmatia stretch to the horizon in every direction.
Stand-up paddleboarding is the perfect Croatia activity for those who want to be on the water without the learning curve of surfing or the commitment of a sailing charter. Within 10 minutes of your first lesson, you'll be upright and paddling — and within an hour, you'll have covered enough ground to appreciate why the Adriatic coastline is considered one of the world's most beautiful stretches of sea.
We offer SUP in a range of settings. Sea paddleboarding from Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik takes you along the coastline at your own pace — gliding over seagrass beds, around limestone headlands and into sheltered bays where the water sits perfectly still. The clarity here is remarkable — in many spots you can see the bottom at 8–10 metres depth through your board.
River SUP on the Cetina River is a more unusual experience — paddling upstream through the canyon in glassy conditions, surrounded by 300-metre walls, with the canyon's natural soundtrack of birds and water. It's one of Croatia's most peaceful and photogenic activities. Pair your SUP session with snorkelling for a complete water sports day.
